KUALA LUMPUR: SME Corp Malaysia has partnered with the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) to launch a strategic initiative aimed at scaling up high-potential Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through innovation.
The inaugural seminar, held today, brought together over 70 SMEs from diverse industries and marked the first of a planned series designed to promote innovation-driven business strategies.
The programme focuses on helping SMEs develop structured innovation learning plans, embed innovation into their core strategies, and adopt practical tools for process improvement and technology integration.
SME Corp chief executive officer Rizal Datuk Nainy said the goal of encouraging innovation among SMEs is to enhance their role in driving national productivity and to support sustainable growth amid growing global competition.
“SME Corp. Malaysia believes that now is the opportune moment to organise this seminar, aimed at equipping SMEs with the knowledge and tools to scale up through innovation-driven strategies,” he said.
SHRDC executive director Teh Sook Ling said the partnership stands to benefit from SHRDC’s expertise in cultivating a sustainable pipeline of skilled, innovative talent capable of supporting Malaysia’s shift towards a digital economy.
