Losing your wallet is stressful enough. Now imagine it flying off in the middle of the highway, along with RM1,000 in cash.
For one unlucky motorcyclist, that’s exactly what happened. But thanks to a kind stranger who went out of his way to help, this story had a surprisingly wholesome ending.
It all started when TikTok user @ajiq.jer was riding along the East Coast Expressway (LPT) near Gambang.
As he cruised down the road, a Yamaha R25 suddenly sped past him. Not long after, something caught his eye; a flurry of banknotes flying through the air.
“Money just started flying everywhere”

At first, Ajiq wasn’t sure what had happened. But based on the timing, he guessed that the cash must’ve flown out from the R25 rider who had just overtaken him.
“Poor guy… nearly RM1,000 just flew off like that. I wanted to chase after him but he was already speeding ahead,” he wrote in the video caption.
Realising the money belonged to someone, Ajiq didn’t hesitate.
He slowed down, stopped by the roadside, and began picking up the loose notes that had scattered across the highway.
To his surprise, he also found a wallet, presumably belonging to the same rider.
Determined to help, he turned to social media
Knowing how serious the situation was, Ajiq recorded the whole process on his phone, from picking up the cash to inspecting the wallet.
He wanted to be sure he had proof, just in case anyone questioned his intentions.
“Anyone recognise this guy? His wallet flew off. I already picked up all his money. This was right after the Gambang exit,” he said in a follow-up video.
“If anyone knows him, help me get this back to him.”
Then came the real detective work
After safely collecting everything, Ajiq checked the identification card inside the wallet and saw that the owner was from Senawang.
Instead of heading straight to a police station, he contacted friends from the area and asked if they recognised the person. They shared the information in local WhatsApp groups to help spread the word.
Surprisingly, it didn’t take long for things to fall into place.
“About two hours later, everything started to make sense,” Ajiq shared.
“A friend of the rider reached out and said the guy had stopped at the Perasing R&R apparently, his fuel had run out. He was so relieved when he found out someone had picked up his wallet.”
One final check before the handover
Still, Ajiq wanted to be absolutely sure. He asked the man to confirm his IC number and the exact amount of cash he had lost and everything matched perfectly.
“Alhamdulillah, he was the real owner,” Ajiq said, thankful that the whole ordeal had come full circle.
