M’sian Bus Driver Beaten With Stick By 2 Men After Crash On North-South Expressway

Just when you thought traffic jams were bad enough, here comes a plot twist straight out of a drama series.

A long-distance bus driver was attacked by two furious men after he accidentally rear-ended their car on the North-South Expressway, and the whole thing was caught on a dashcam.

You hit my car, I hit you back

In a viral video circulating on social media, two middle-aged men were seen confronting the bus driver after the accident. The car involved was a blue Perodua Alza, which was reportedly rear-ended by the bus.

But instead of exchanging insurance details like most drivers would, the two men decided to take matters into their own hands.

After stopping their car by the roadside, they approached the bus with what looked like a wooden stick.

Once they opened the passenger door of the bus, the man with glasses immediately began hitting the driver with the stick.

Police reports have been filed

The incident, which took place at KM 58.5 of the northbound direction on the expressway near Kluang around 3 pm, caught the attention of the public and the police.

According to Harian Metro, Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said reports were received from both parties at 5.50 pm on the same day of the incident (2 Apr).

A separate report regarding the assault was filed the following day (3 Apr) at 3.53 pm.

He added that the two men were suspected of acting out of anger after the bus collided with their vehicle.

Police have since launched an investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon, which can carry a jail term of up to 10 years, a fine, whipping, or a combination of all three.

As for the bus driver, the case of reckless driving will be investigated under Section 10 of the Road Transport Act 1959 (LN 166/59).

Police are still trying to locate the suspects and urge anyone with information to contact the nearest police station or the Kluang District Police Headquarters at 07-7784222, direct line 07-7784256, hotline 07-7766822, or mobile number 014-3656822.
