KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Finance Inc’s Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd (MDV) has appointed Sharul Sazman Samaan as its new chief business officer (CBO), effective June 20.
Sharul, who had been serving as acting CBO since December 2024, brings over two decades of experience in the financing sector, including 17 years with MDV.
In a statement today, MDV said Sharul has built a solid foundation in credit processing, business development, and customer relationship management.
It said his contributions continue to shape MDV’s business strategy and customer engagement efforts.
Sharul joined MDV in 2008 and has held various senior roles, including Business Division senior assistant vice president, Business Building vice president, and Client Coverage senior vice president.
Prior to MDV, he was with Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, where he managed commercial and contract financing portfolios.
As CBO, he will oversee business strategies, operational excellence, and efforts to broaden the company’s market reach across public and private sectors.
