SUNGAI BULOH: A man was arrested over his housemate’s murder here yesterday.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said police received a distress call at 11.26pm about a fight at a house in Jalan Gajah 6, Kampung Kubu Gajah, Sungai Pelong.
The altercation had reportedly led to a stabbing.
“Police found two men in the living room of the house.”
He said one man was unconscious with a stab wound in the left side of his chest.
“An ambulance arrived at 12.01am and pronounced the victim dead.
“The other man was detained as he was believed to be involved in the case.”
Forensic personnel seized a knife believed to have been used by the suspect, he added.
He said the deceased’s body was sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem.
The suspect was taken to the Shah Alam Magistrates Court, where a remand order for six days until July 1 was granted.
“Investigations revealed the 33-year-old victim and 40-year-old suspect had arrived from Kelantan three days earlier.”
