Days after insiders revealed that Jennifer Lawrence welcomed her second baby with husband Cooke Maroney, new sources gave an update on the Hunger Games star and her newborn. And they revealed one thing that Lawrence reportedly felt was “perfect” about her pregnancy this time around.
“Her first child was born in Los Angeles. She recently gave birth to her second child in N.Y.C.” the insider told PEOPLE, adding that Lawrence is “doing well.”
Lawrence, who hasn’t publicly confirmed the baby news yet, reportedly likes the fact that her new child and her firstborn son Cy are just over three years apart. “She was very excited about the pregnancy,” the source shared. “She thought it was the perfect timing. She was very active and felt good.” A 3-year-old and a newborn? That does sound perfect, and we have no doubt they’ll grow up to be the best of friends. I have kids 18 months apart and kids three years apart, and I have to say, the slightly bigger age gap does make things a bit easier!
In the interview, the insider added, “She’s a fun mom and loves outings with her son. She’s also super protective. She wants her children to have as much privacy as possible.”
This makes sense, considering how her pregnancy reveal was simply her just going out in public with a baby bump then confirming her pregnancy to Vogue. In the past, the No Hard Feelings actress told Vanity Fair that she protects her kids on instinct.
“If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!’ But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can,” she said.
On Thursday, Lawrence was photographed without a baby bump when she went out to dinner with Maroney. Just Jared obtained photos of the Silver Linings Playbook actress, wearing a long beige sweater over a silk beige skirt with her long blonde hair hanging in loose waves around her shoulders. This would be an apt way to announce the birth, as it’s so symbolic for her announcing the pregnancy!
We just hope Lawrence is enjoying the newborn baby bliss. Based on her prior comments about parenthood, we know she will. She told Vogue in Sept. 2022 that having a baby changed her perspective on kids in general.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, ‘Now is day one of my life.’ I just stared. I was just so in love,” she said. “I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, ‘Awwww, preciousssss.’”
