With over 2000 skins and millions of players, Fortnite is the biggest live service game on the market right now. The game owes a lot of its success to the collaborations and partnerships that Epic Games co-ordinates with not just real-life celebrities, but also big fictional IPs.
Travis Scott made Fortnite history back in April 2020 with his in-game Astronomical concert. Concerts in games are a thing sure, but it was more than just that, it was a full-blown cultural event that brought in over 27 million players and introduced one of the most iconic skins in the game’s history.

It’s 2025 and five years later, fans are still wondering: will Travis Scott ever return to the game? There have been rumors and hopes for a return, but if you look at it objectively, the answer is more complicated than we might hope. And it’s likely a disappointing one.
Is Fortnite bringing back the Travis Scott skin?
The short answer? No. As much as fans might want it, the Travis Scott skin is highly unlikely to return. Despite ongoing fan campaigns and social media movements like #BringBackTravisScott, Epic Games has made no official announcements about the rapper’s return. The skin has not been seen in the Item Shop since April 27, 2020.
The Arcane skins and Travis Scott skin were not updated in today’s update. What are you doing, Epic Games? Bring them back!

The original skin launched alongside the Astronomical concert for 1,500 V-Bucks, with a full bundle available for 2,500. It had references to his music, fashion, and even the Terminator franchise. Over time, it has become one of the game’s most sought-after and rarest skins. But why is it gone?
In case you didn’t know why it’s not in the game anymore, the skin was removed from the game after controversy and the tragic incident at the Astroworld concert in 2021. Even though Scott was cleared of criminal responsibility for the incident, Epic Games has been noticeably quiet about any future collaborations.
With no new events or skin re-releases tied to the artist since 2020, we can tell that the company is being careful. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney addressed the speculation in June 2023 when asked about the skin’s return. “Travis Scott is welcome in Fortnite,” he said. He did clarify that he wasn’t privy to item shop rotation schedules or licensing details with celebrities.
Legal clearance does not erase public memory or potential backlash. Fortnite has one of the biggest global presences in gaming and with how youth-focused it is, we understand the hesitation. Even if the artist was cleared of any kind of wrongdoing, there might also be licensing issues if Epic wanted to make it happen.
What do you think of the possibility of a return in 2025? Let us know in the comments!
