Huge chart-topping singer announces major show in Scotland this summer

CHART sensation Chappell Roan has announced a major show in Scotland this summer.

The in-demand Hot To Go singer has been praised by megastars including Lady Gaga and Elton John, and was recognised as one of 2024’s breakthrough acts thanks to her meteoric rise to fame.

She spent 23 weeks in the UK Singles Chart Top Ten, reached No. 1 with her 2023 debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and performed a sell-out European tour last year.

Now, the 27-year-old Grammy Award winner for Best New Artist is set to return to Scotland in August for a special performance as part of the Edinburgh Summer Sessions.

Chappell — whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz — will play the Royal Highland Showgrounds on Tuesday, 26 August.

Gigs in Scotland has described her performances as “larger-than-life,” noting her headline shows sell out in mere hours after building an “impassioned community of listeners” who “scream along to her gutsy anthems.”

Pre-sale tickets will be available from 9am on Thursday, with standard tickets on sale from 9am on Friday.

Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21, with a minimum age restriction of 12 years old.

While appearing at Coachella Festival in California last April, Chappell famously declared: “I’m your favourite artist’s favourite artist,” and she wasn’t joking.

Elton John has praised her talent, saying, “It’s wonderful to see true talent being recognised,” while Sabrina Carpenter remarked, “I’ve been just as obsessed with her as everyone has.”

Lady Gaga revealed she is a “huge” fan, Ariana Grande expressed her love for Chappell, and Adele interrupted her Munich residency to tell the crowd: “She is spectacular, and it turns out she’s not just got one song.

“She’s got, like, seven f***ing brilliant songs.

“I think she’s absolutely amazing.

“I’m very excited for her, but my friend also said she’s a bit scared.

“So, do what you gotta do, baby girl, but you’re phenomenal.”

Chappell released her debut album in September 2023, though it initially failed to crack the Top 100 in the UK.

In April 2023, she had 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, but that figure has soared to 47 million in just a few short months.

And in February 2025 at the 67th Grammy Awards, the hitmaker won her first Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

And last month she knocked herself off the Official Chart No 1 with her new single The Giver, pushing Pink Pony Club down to three.
