After eight full weekends in theaters, things are finally slowing down at the box office for Captain America: Brave New World. Anthony Mackie’s big-screen debut as the Star-Spangled Man has earned $199 million at the domestic box office and $213 million internationally for a total of $412 million worldwide. While this is enough to make it one of the three highest-grossing movies of the year globally and the #1 movie domestically, it doesn’t hold up so well against the rest of the MCU. Brave New World has earned less than half the box office total of 17 MCU movies, and it is currently the sixth-lowest-grossing MCU movie ever. Brave New World has passed only The Marvels, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Black Widow, and Eternals.
